Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Each year, from September 15 to October 15 Americans celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by sharing the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. 2021 was especially significant because it was the 200th anniversary of Costa Rican Independence from Spain. Holi, also known as the "Festival of Love", the "Festival of Colors" and the "Festival of Spring," is a popular ancient Hindu festival celebrated in the India which has spread to other regions of Asia and the West. It celebrates the arrival of spring, the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna, and also signifies the triumph of good over evil, the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over the demon Hiranyakashipu. 

Holi celebrations start on the night before where people gather, perform religious rituals in front of a bonfire, and pray that their internal evil be destroyed in the fire. The next morning is a free-for-all, where people smear each other with powdered colors and drench each other with colored water, everyone is fair game! People visit family and friends come together to have fun, laugh and share Holi food and drinks.
