Hispanic Heritage Month Recipes
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Each year, from September 15 to October 15 Americans celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by sharing the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America. 2021 was especially significant because it was the 200th anniversary of Costa Rican Independence from Spain. Here are a few traditional & unique Latin American recipes you may want to add to your menu:
what beautiful garden produce! i miss having a garden, I'd do more with the balcony but it's too hot right now. I've add you to my instagram feed, I'm @catemlawrence -Cate from IMK :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cate! I can understand, the heat has been bad. Cool, I've add you as well! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteSo much deliciousness in your kitchen and garden, so so envious. My gardening is quite pitiful, the gardening mojo is jast not coming back - I think its the work hours doing me in :( Love your garage sale goodies too, the pots, the cookbook, the tapas bowls - wow. PS I Want your brothers t-shirt, very cool!
ReplyDeleteHi Shaheen, It's been a crazy busy month here too, try to take some time for you and don't work too hard! My brother just got back from London, and I told him you liked his shirt and he was thrilled, he made it himself haha! :)
DeleteYour garden produce looks stunningly colorful and tempting - what a contrast to the tired, shipped by barge from the lower 48, slightly less fresh produce we find during the summer cruise in Alaska. Pickled chard stems? genius idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee! You have the fish and I have the produce we have to find a way to work this out haha! Pickled Chard stems are delicious, posting the how-to soon! :)
Deleteall that wonderful produce! i am jealous. we can grow nothing due to bush turkeys and possums. i love the copper dishes and the cookbook. and such a clever idea to pickle the stems of the chard. great post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, we've had quite a few rabbits this year, and quite a few headless plant shoots as a result, luckily the possums haven't been too much of a problem. Pickled Chard stems are delicious, posting the how-to soon, thanks for stopping by! :)
