We did a tour and tasting of Mead (Honey Wine) at NJ's First Meadery - Melovino. :)
We had a birthday party for Kishore with all his favorite foods. His special birthday dinner was Spicy Shrimp with Vegetable Stir-fry Noodles.

My Aunt brought me back these beautiful hand carved spoons from Laos.
A few sourdough recipes from my 1876 Homemaker's book inspired some baking....Sourdough Coconut Brownies.
Caraway Rye Sourdough Crackers w/ Sea Salt
Reading and enjoying this Story / Cookbook from 1947. A sweet memoir from a woman who learned to cook from her family's Russian Cook.
A friend brought me back this lovely tea towel from Australia.
Made some Ginger Soy Beef Jerky for my brother in college.
Made some new Potholders, and a few Trivets from Wine Corks.

I am always intrigued by whats in your kitchen and you never disappoint. I would so love to get my gnashers round the soy beef jerky, will you be posting the recipe? would love to have a got at making it at home. Adore those carved spoons too. And the wine cork trivet. Clever way of recycling.

DeleteWow you have been busy! That spicy prawn (that's what we call them in Australia) looks really delicious... I don't know if I would use the wooden spoons they look too nice and the tea towel will need a few good washes before it absorb any water... I'm not sure what they put on them to stop it :) Thanks for sharing! Liz x
